Types of Ice & Usage
- Dice Ice has long been the standard in the restaurant industry and is used in drinks and hotel room buckets.
- The Half Dice, Crescent Cube and Contour Cube Ice is replacing the full cube. These ice shapes are designed to fill a cup more, thus reducing the liquid in a glass. Bar owner in particular are seeing the advantage of less liquor in a glass and higher profits. These ice shapes are also better suited for salad bar usage than a full ice cube.
- Flaked Ice is typically used in icing down fish, salad bars, snow cones, health care & hospital test tubes, & icing a sports injury.
- Chiplet Ice is used in hospital and health care patient ice, as well as a unique touch to a restaurant drink
